Born in San Francisco and raised in Carmel, he got a unique opportunity to grow up around some of the awe inspiring landscapes of the California coast. After high school, Markus enlisted in the United States Marine Corps where he served as an instructor at the USMC School of Mountain Warfare, receiving an honorable discharge at the rank of Sergeant. After the military, Markus graduated from SF State with a B.A. in Communication, and started Liaison Landscapes, inc. shortly thereafter. With a passion for concept creation, team-building, and a unique level of attention to detail, the landscape design & construction process is something that Markus has spent a decade crafting into the capacity of what Liaison Landscapes is today.

LEAD DESIGNER

Born in San Francisco and raised in the East Bay where his early experiences working in plant nurseries sparked a lifelong passion for all things landscape. After graduating with honors from UC Davis with a B.S. in Landscape Architecture, Elliot has spent the last 12 years honing his skills at top-tier design firms with a specific focus in residential and estate design. He is well-versed in navigating local and regional jurisdictions to meet the strict permitting requirements throughout the Bay Area, and regularly collaborates with teams of Architects and Engineers to obtain permit approvals for our largest projects. With his detail-oriented approach and comprehensive grasp of landscape construction principles, Elliot brings together all facets of our landscape designs to ensure the realization of our client’s vision.

Brent joined Liaison Landscapes in 2022, bringing with him 8 years of experience in the landscape design industry throughout California. He has a diverse portfolio encompassing private residences, corporate offices, mixed-use developments, and public open spaces. Holding a Bachelor of Landscape Architecture from California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo, and an ISA Certified Arborist credential, Brent offers a deep understanding of plant life, irrigation systems, and sustainable design principles. He is well-versed in MWELO compliance and recycled water standards, ensuring his designs meet all local and state regulations. Brent's extensive project experience allows him to navigate the complexities and challenges that arise throughout the design process, delivering well-considered solutions and functional spaces.

EXECUTIVE ASSISTANT

Chrissy’s path hasn't been linear, but the threads connect. From her background as a social worker supporting kids on the autism spectrum to now supporting the hustle of a landscaping firm, she’s developed a knack for adaptability, a well-honed ear for anticipating needs, and the patience to handle any curveball.

ASSISTANT DESIGNER

Hailing from the city of Oakland, California, Kenneth has over 5 years Building Information Modeling (BIM) expertise within the Architectural, Engineering, and Construction sector. At Liaison Landscapes, Kenneth takes on projects with precision and innovation, leveraging his passion for computer sciences and programming to elevate our work. Beyond design, he finds joy in mountain biking and gaming, embodying a spirit of adventure and curiosity that drives our collective pursuit of excellence.

A structural engineer with dual licenses in Civil C-80829 and Structural S-6504, Gang has over 18 years hand-on structural design experience. Pursuing the most compelling engineering solution for each individual project, he believes that each project is unique and deserves his full attention. Whether engaging in a site feasibility review, detailed design, or permit review phase, Gang strives to ensure optimum design work with elegance, compliance, and engineering precision. He also firmly believes teamwork is the foundation for all project success.

PROJECTS OPERATIONS SUPERVISOR

Justin spent his formative years learning the building trades working on construction projects throughout the Monterey Peninsula. He later moved to Santa Barbara working as the lead carpenter and project manager for a high-end custom home builder, simultaneously earning a Bachelor’s Degree from The University of California at Santa Barbara. Prior to joining the team at Liaison, Justin spent 12 years specializing in managing and building unique estate projects in the SF Bay Area and Maui for high-end clientele. Outside of his career, Justin most enjoys exploring the Bay Area with his wife and two beautiful daughters.

STRUXURE BAY AREA

After working in sales and marketing for several years, Shawn decided to join his brother, Markus, at Liaison Landscapes. Here he discovered a passion for building. Leveraging his enjoyment of construction, Shawn now leads Liaison’s sister company, StruXure Bay Area, providing high-end louvered aluminum pergolas to clients throughout Northern California.

LIAISON CONCRETE CONSTRUCTION

Ian has over 22 years of experience in the concrete and excavation industry, tackling a diverse range of projects from heavy civil and water treatment facilities to high-end residential estates and light industrial sites. Throughout his career, he has gained expertise in various roles, starting as a laborer and progressing to now heading the hardscape division of our team, Liaison Concrete Construction. Currently, Ian wears many hats, overseeing everything from project estimation and management to field operations and closeout. He approaches challenges with a resourceful mindset, believing there's always a solution. As a leader, he fosters continuous improvement and embraces new ideas for growth. Ian's mission is to cultivate strong, professional partnerships, ensure reliable project coordination and completion, and contribute to employee success and client satisfaction. He operates from the Liaison Hardscapes office in Coarsegold, California.
